See you later - From Janice

Mom passed during the night. The following poem wrote itself.
See you later.
The time has come to say goodbye,
But I can’t do it. It is not goodbye, but see you later.
You are going on a final journey and I can’t
Follow you right now, but I will join you in the
Sweet bye and bye, so see you later.

When I was just a little child and went off to school,
You didn’t say goodbye, you said, “See you later”.
When as a young person, I left for college,
You didn’t say goodbye, you said, “See you later”.
The day I got married and left on a honeymoon,
You didn’t say goodbye, you said, “See you later”.
When dad retired and you moved away,
You didn’t say goodbye, you said, “See you later”.
At each and every milestone of life,
You didn’t say goodbye, you said, “See you later”.
So, now in this final journey,
You didn’t say goodbye, you said, “See you later”.
And I’ll be coming along someday and leaving
Behind some loved ones,
But then again it won’t be goodbye, I’ll say, “See you later”.
